The Rev. Joe Hinds was called as the pastor of the Elmwood and Westminster Churches in September of 2007. Pastor Joe is married to the Rev. Kazy Hinds who is the Associate Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Liverpool. They live in Syracuse with their four-year-old son, Paul. Joe’s sons Miller (16) and Jack (14) live in New Jersey with their mother.
Before accepting the call to Syracuse, Rev. Hinds served for five years as the pastor at the Springs Community Presbyterian Church in East Hampton, NY, on the east end of Long Island.
Before moving north Rev. Hinds served for two years as the Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Pelzer, South Carolina.
Rev. Hinds received the Masters of Divinity degree in 1999 from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Joe and Kazy met in seminary and married in 1999. Before accepting calls in South Carolina they were resident volunteers at the Open Door Community, a ministry of hospitality in Atlanta, Georgia.
Pastor Joe was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and spent his elementary and middle school years in Jackson and Hattiesburg. He graduated from high school in Huntsville, Alabama. Joe is a graduate of the University of Alabama (B.A. History, 1995).
